So it's been quite a while since I actually wrote a proper blog post (especially a birthday one!), so here goes. This day, well, this year rather, marks a very special moment in my life - it's the year I officially turn 21, my last year of undergrad, and the year my book was launched. My road to 21 has definitely been filled with TONs of ups and downs! From personal crises to professional highs, it was an interesting year to say the least. The 2 photos above show the bucket list I had posted on my 17th birthday (2011) and an updated version (aka me crossing off other stuff on it). I honestly never thought I'd get to cross off so these 3 major things in the 5 years since I first made the list! So among the things I've crossed off are the following: 1. Author and Amigurumi book -- done! Thanks to Martingale and Company! The book is Huggable Amigurumi, which I had been posting about in my different social media accounts. 2. I got featured in a magazine! I actually got featured in Oz-Verlag's We Love Amigurumi Magazine. The feature is in German. 3. Design at least 150 amigurumi - can you believe I actually got to cross this off!!!!! Technically speaking, it's 156 in progress + finished designs (aka I got too lazy to sew the remaining ones hahahah). Here's a quick gif of ALL 156 - you can also see the progress in terms of the photos! I've actually started up taking photography last December. A lot of the designs are actually stuff I haven't posted yet (honestly because I forgot I haven't posted them!!) As I turn 21, I just want to take this time to say a couple THANK YOUs! Thank you for always being there for me. I was just 16 when I started Sweet N' Cute Creations and you all supported me wholeheartedly. I have met so many wonderful people throughout these past few years. Thank you for all the love and support you have extended to me every single time. Words cannot express how grateful and lucky I am to have you all! Of course, I'd like to say thank you to my family and friends for always being there for me, even if at times I may be a bit moody and emotional. Also, thank you to the amazing team at Martingale - thank you for believing in me and for making me feel so loved and special! Thank you also for the sweet little surprises like this signed copy of my book that I've been getting every couple of weeks! What birthday is complete without a little giveaway? So to celebrate, I'll be giving away 5 premium patterns to 5 lucky winners (I'll be releasing new patterns over the next few weeks for you to choose from too!). The coupon above also entitles you to a 21% discount in my Ravelry Store!

My favorite part of birthdays is getting to spend time with friends and family. Life can get so busy, but my family always makes time to get together for a meal to celebrate someone's birthday - and there's generally cake and ice cream involved, too :)

My favorite thing about birthdays is they show what people really mean to one another. People can care and not always show it but they always try to show that they care on your birthday. I always enjoy making my son's birthday the happiest day of the year for him.

Birthdays remind you that time moves on. Which is great, as some lights are turned off too soon. Oh, and the discounts/freebies that flood my email box.

I love that birthdays are the one day of the year you get to feel special. When family and friends call or message you, and you get to blow out candles on a birthday cake and make a wish. Each year I try for my wish to come true

Birthdays mean you are one year wiser! I love the idea of doing a bucket list because that gives you a chance to look back at all you've accomplished and think about how much you've learned in the process. Happy, happy birthday!!

My favorite thing about birthdays is all the little greetings you get from family, friends, and people you don't even get to talk to! Even if growing older isn't such a big deal anymore unlike when I was a kid, it still feels warm and nice inside when others remember or drop a little greeting if they hear!

My favourite birthday thing ever was a fruit basket - so much nom! Ironically, this year, my friend bought me a Famous Bowl, lol. Definitely not on the healthy side, but once a year for such a thing isn't bad, right? *wink wink*
